Bday party!!

It was crazy fun this last weekend (jan 3rd) i had a giant birthday party / new year's party / farewell party / bonfire / whatever and it was so much fun!! The day before, i went looking around for lots of firewood cuz a bonfire is no good unless it's gigantic, so i went to the asian market across the street from my house and got 4 palettes of wood, and we also got a few from a friend of ours! haha so we were totally stocked on firewood.
We got to dockwieler and got the fire started, and slowly people started to trickle in. It ended up being the usual suspects: sam, sherv, brian, kristin, krista, brandon, and then brook showed up later, along with the fam. We all had fun makin smores and weenies on the fire, then we took turns jumping over the fire and i got some sweet pics! (if i do say so myself :] )

After we went to the mall and sat around trying to figure out what we were gonna do, and i had a gift card burning a hole in my wallet, so we went to Black Angus and got a bunch of desserts and pigged out. Brian ate nearly a whole chunk of cake with his hands cuz the girls were complaining that the guys hadn't eaten anything lol. in his words, he "hippopotomusized it".
All in all, it was an awesome birthday/farewell/newyear's, and it would be totally fun again next year, except i won't be there :[

New Life's Resolution

So I've decided that it's time i did a stupid New Year's resolution, so that all of those who read this and notice I'm not doing it can yell at me and remind me to do it again :]
I'm thinkin that I'm gonna... study japanese? actually there's not much i can do because I'm leaving in about a month lol i just realized...
Well fine how about an update on the life! This Christmas was basically amazing. We got to have Christmas at home, then i went over to Katelin Hatter's house and had a ton of dessert and played charades with her family, even tho i kinda stink at it :]. I got to go to the temple!! That was amazing, and totally put me on a spiritual high for a while. I'm gonna try to go to as many as i can because the feeling is apparently different in each one. For Christmas i got a ton of missionary clothes, which was expected. I'm almost ready!! I've got a few more things to get ready like ordering the luggage and a few more white shirts, but for the most part I'm ready to get out the door.
Later, on Dec. 27th, Bebe got married!!! So i was able to go to her sealing, which was really really cool. after we went to my house and had a greed game with the cousins that were able to come to the wedding. The following monday we went to visit with the cousins up in Valencia, and got to hang out with them and meet Kelsie's fiancee!! CRAZY GIRL YOU'RE ONLY 11 DAYS OLDER THAN ME!! haha congrats but still it's friggin scary for moi.
aaaand we got an xbox 360 for christmas so we've been killing nazi zombies late into the night basically every night which has been a blast (get it???? :D )
ahhh i need to get more pics up of stuff we do!

Yikers its been a while!

So It's been a while since i made a post, so i decided to do one! So I've been prepping for Jap like madness, and there's alot I've realized coming along the path. Prepping has taught me that I've actually been preparing for this my entire life! Back in highschool, I used to wear ties every friday, and it brought alot of attention. In Japan, I'm gonna be a giant white guy and most likely attract quite a bit of attention, and now I'm ready for it because I'm used to being gawked at (also handsomeness gets me looked at.. ;) ) Alsooo all my life I've been trying to avoid hitting my head on doorways and tree limbs (not always successful) and that's gonna be good for when the doorways are super short.
I don't like fish so much, so I'll have to get used to that, but I'm actually pretty excited to be changed. It's been said that the only people that like change are babies with full diapers, but I like to think that I'm starting to like it a bit more. I've realized that for every change, I'm given tons of blessings to make up for anything that's been weird about it.
Pretty sweet deal, I'd say. :]

JAPAN! DAAAAAAANG

WOO!
got my mission call! I have been called to the Japan Tokyo mission! I've been told to report to the MTC in Utah on February 11th, so I've started all my passport stuff already. I tried to get it today, but for some reason the US government decided to make me mad and require a real birth certificate instead of the one i used a few years ago. strange. so now i have to go to some crazy place and get a new one, THEN do it. bleh. BUT now i can start shopping for my mission stuff, and get it all together and serve a mission! SO PSYCHED! I've already started boning up on my japanese by buying a book and practicing and writing it all down. Hopefully by the time i get to the MTC I'll be a bit better off than the average bear. That way i can get out of the MTC sooner and actually be in Japan! yay! wish me luck! :D

SO
I'm gonna get my mission call any day now, and I'm friggin going crazy cuz i want to know where I'm going to spend the next 2 years of my life!! Dang i am really excited to go! I have absolutely nothing to hold me here, besides family, and I'm pretty sure they'll still be there when i get back :]. This is kind of weird i sorta feel like everything is so surreal, getting this call. It's two whole years of my life! wow when i think about it, there is SOOOO much that has happened in the last two years, and it's kinda crazy thinking I'm gonna be gone for that long. so crazy, but cool!! School blows, so there will be no missing that. I already have no social life (I blame school) so I won't be missing that either lol. aaaaaaaaAAAAAAA it's coming soon!

This is kind of weird cuz i am pretty sure nobody reads this stuff so it sorta feels like I'm writing this for no reason... :/

New to blogging

yikes I figured I'd be the last person to set up a blogging account. I thought the point of a journal was to keep it secret? ahh well whatevs.

Well let's introduce Evan. I'm around 6'5", and every person i know swears that i am still getting taller, even though the scale says I'm not. I am addicted to music and reading wholly and completely. I try to start every day with music because I think music is the soul's way of speaking. It gives people a chance to express themselves and show who they really are. What type of music a person listens to can tell you alot about them, and I think the music they play or sing does to an even greater extent. If you don't read, you're really missing out. Having a love for reading makes me curious and try to learn things about the world, and it makes life more interesting when you know what's going on around you.

I'm LDS, which stands for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It's a part of who i am and is the reason I'm the person I am. It's taught me to seek for higher learning, higher morales, and how i can find joy in life and that i can find even more after death. It's really sad to me to see other religions that believe that when you die, that's it. makes life seem somewhat pointless and depressing, and i wish people would see that there's more to life than just living.

I love sports, especially playing them. Water Polo and Swimming are what I love, but life has gotten in the way recently, and i haven't had an opportunity to play in the pool.

I have three younger brothers, and a mother and father (some don't have both so i thought I'd make it clear) who love me and I love them. I'm lucky to have the family that I do.

well there's more but you've already read more than you signed up for when you clicked on here :]

I'll try to write often, but can't promise anything because I'm lucky to find time before i drop off to sleep at night.
